Finally, the date was here. Last August 29th PyCon Latam 2019 started.
A few weeks after the event we'd like to do a small recap of what happened.

On Thursday 29th we held the opening ceremony of the event, at the sea's shore and the sun setting.
The next day, we started the event. The first of two days of talks, in which 182 attendees from 20 different countries were able to enjoy:
- Four Keynotes from Manuel Kaufmann, Lorena Mesa, Tania Allard y Álvaro Justen.
- 24 talks, divided into two tracks, English and Spanish.
Thanks to the support of the Python Software Foundation (PSF) it was possible to give over 30 grants to attendees that couldn't have been able to assist otherwise.

Besides, with the help of Nuevo Foundation, we were able to give a workshop conducted for children in the local community of Puerto Vallarta.

There was an exhibition room, where attendees could approach the stand and talk to our main sponsors: Linode, Github and Elastic.

Naomi Ceder, a PSF board member, made a surprise book signing in which she gave some copies of her book "The Quick Python Book" among the attendees.

Also, the Octogatos from Github gave a workshop to "Create courses using Learning Lab of GitHub”.

In order for the event to run smoothly, we had the amazing support of a group of volunteers, they all helped with making the conference the best it could be.
This and more happened on the first edition of PyCon Latam, in coming posts we'll go into detail of this and more activities of the event. For the moment, we only want to say "Thank you!" because without you none of this would have been possible.
